11th Annual Spring Gala Raises All-Time High in Funding for Programs
On April 14, 2016, Gads Hill Center held its 11th Annual Spring Gala. Thanks to our generous supporters, this year's Gala raised $140,000, an all-time high. These funds will directly support Gads Hill Center's mission to create opportunities for children and their families to build a better life through education, access to resources and community engagement.
At the Gala, Gads Hill Center was honored to present the following awards:
"Sembrando el Futuro" Award
Presented to State Senator Antonio (Tony) Muñoz in recognition of his invaluable contributions to improving the lives of our families and our communities.
Star Catcher Award
Presented to Pedro Cevallos-Candau, PhD, PE for his years of providing opportunities and promoting educational achievement, particularly among the Latino community.
Outstanding Partner Award
Presented to Humana in celebration of Humana's dedication to encouraging healthier lifestyles, and in recognition of its significant impact on the mission and work of Gads Hill Center.
Held for the third year at Lacuna Artist Lofts in Pilsen with emcee Anthony Ponce of NBC 5 News, attendees also enjoyed the musical stylings of Jugo de Mango and speeches presented by students in our Teen Connection program.
